Overview
Congregation Beth El Norwalk (CBE), an egalitarian Conservative synagogue in Norwalk, CT, is seeking a part time Education Director for its Hebrew/Religious School, beginning June 2022. It is a small school which currently meets Sunday mornings in person and some weekday afternoons virtually. Candidates must be well versed in the technology needed to support remote learning and to market the school via social media. This is a part-time position (though if qualifications are met, other positions can supplement this job) which reports to the VP of Education and works closely with the Rabbi and the staff of CBE’s office and nursery school. The Education Director’s role includes working directly with all learners from pre-kindergarten to high school students.
Primary Responsibilities are to guide the school to continue to implement our curriculum and programs, including, but not limited to:
B’nei Mitzvah preparation
High Holidays
Ongoing Youth Engagement Programs
Perform all administrative and supervisory functions generally performed by education directors in similar capacities at Conservative congregations.
Pay – $20,500 plus $700 for educational conference plus vacation/personal/sick days
