Overview

The Choice, Inc. is facilitating a search for a Development Manager for a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to help promote dialogue and solve problems across the political divide on some of the nation’s most pressing issues. This position is an immediate direct hire opportunity.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree
5-8 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising preferred.
Outstanding project management and organizational abilities.
Previous experience with handling grants and grant writing for proposals.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working on complex social issues and policies
Experience with Salesforce or similar database, capability with wealth research tools like iWave, and fluency with Microsoft Office. Comfort learning new software and systems a plus.
Sense of humor, flexibility, resourcefulness, and collaborative work ethic.

Responsibilities

Manage key institutional/corporate/foundation funder relationships, including the cultivation and stewardship of the relationship.
Develop high-quality, cohesive written content to support fundraising including grants, letters of interest, and proposals.
Work with communications team to develop other marketing materials that can support fundraising efforts.
Represent the organization on external meetings, calls, and events.
Support Senior Associate on conducting research on potential funders, developing background materials and preparation materials in advance of meetings.
Work with program team to ensure project updates and information are provided to funders.
Develop slide decks and materials for presentations with funders.
Support engagement with key stakeholders including Board members, Leadership Council members and other VIPs.
Support fundraising events and special projects.
Play an active role as a member of the staff and positively engage with interns, colleagues, alumni, and leadership.

A note on location: Most of the staff are concentrated in two hubs — one around Washington, DC and the other in the San Francisco Bay Area. All staff are working remotely for the time being with hybrid office/remote workspace possible in the future. Candidates are welcomed regardless of location. Some travel to/between workplace hubs required.
