  • Position: IT Manager
  • Reports to: Director of Operations or Director of Communications
  • Employment Type: Half-time (20 hours per week). Options for a flexible schedule.
  • Compensation: $37,800-$46,200 annually, depending on experience.

  • Location: Seattle; the position can be largely remote, with 1-2 days in the office each week

Position Summary: 
The IT Manager will be responsible for administering and leveraging CNW’s IT and communications systems to support the work of staff and advance our mission. This includes overall management of CNW’s systems and applications; integrations between systems; troubleshooting and training staff to optimize IT resources; collaborating with Philanthropy, Communications, and program staff in use of technology; and identifying and recommending new tools and trainings for the organization.

Responsibilities: 
Oversee IT infrastructure:

  • Provide guidance for and administer Office 365 and other applications, including identity management, Microsoft Groups and email address administration, email security (such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and assessing spam and reports), browser and device management, application security and allow listing, SharePoint and OneDrive data security and backup, and general troubleshooting.
  • Provide hardware recommendations and oversee hardware and software asset management, including provision and de-provision accounts across the organization, DNS records for a portion of our domain names, password management system, and software deployments and monitoring events and updates
  • Creating and managing an annual IT budget.
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to our IT-managed systems.
  • Work to identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities and risks, including threat monitoring, threat prevention, audits of our IT-managed systems, and data breach response and management.

Training and Support to Staff:

  • Troubleshoot problems, and provide direct technical support to our staff, interns, and others.
  • Perform onboarding and offboarding tasks for all IT systems, including set-up and tracking of computers and hardware.
  • Conduct training on software, security, and other IT best practices.
  • Work on various IT projects and assist with implementing products that help accomplish our organizational goals, including enhancing account and device security across the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications 
Technology:

  • Minimum 6 years of professional IT experience. Strong foundational understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, SaaS applications, and end-user operations.
  • Able to provide both high and low-level guidance across the suite of technologies used at the organization with an ability to rapidly switch contexts.
  • Possess a solid foundation in solving computer hardware break/fix situations.
  • Experience in general help desk troubleshooting, supporting Windows OS, working with remote administration tools, servicing accounts, working with multi-factor authentication, and implementing password managers.
  • Must have experience with Office 365 (preferably Administrator). Preferably experience with Watchguard products, Avast, Windows Defender, ESRI, Salesforce, Classy, Asana, Synology servers, Dreamhost, LogMeIn; Formal technical education, certifications, and nonprofit experience preferred.
