SUMMARY:
The Executive Director (ED) leads the Coalition for Home Repair, a national nonprofit which promotes the preservation of safe, healthy, affordable housing for all by supporting the work of home repair and rehabilitation partners nationwide. The ED is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, fundraising, and implementation of the strategic plan of the organization. This is a full-time exempt remote position requiring occasional travel.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Board Governance: Reports to and works closely with the Board of Directors to fulfill the organization’s mission.
Communicates effectively with the Board and provides timely and accurate reports and other information necessary for the Board to make informed decisions.
Works with the Board to develop a strategic plan to ensure the Coalition can successfully fulfill its mission into the future.
Participates in all Board Committees.
2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
Fundraises and develops other revenue necessary to support the Coalition’s mission. Oversees the diversification of revenue streams and increases in unrestricted funds.
Responsible for the fiscal management and integrity of the Coalition, maximizing resource utilization, and maintaining a positive financial position.
Ensures that all funder guidelines are followed, and that the subgrantees and recipients of pass-through funding adhere to Coalition and funder requirements.
3) Mission and Strategy: Works with Board and Staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled.
Implements the strategic plan.
Advocates for home preservation and affordable housing at state and federal levels.
Serves as the primary spokesperson to stakeholders, media, and general public.
Recruits new Coalition members, business partners, nonprofit partners, conference sponsors, and ensures the engagement and retention of 120+ members.
4) Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure the operations can thrive.
Responsible for the recruiting, hiring, supervising, training, and retaining staff.
Oversees the Coalition’s existing programs and the development of new programs.
Maintains employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the Coalition, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
Other duties as needed.
INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO 2023:
Anticipated revenue approximately $680,000; 63% allocated to pass-through funding.
$1,000,000 three-year Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Veterans grant
Three part-time staff in addition to the ED:
Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant (12 hours/week)
Marketing Coordinator (8 hours/week)
Program Coordinator & Compliance Officer (28 hours/week, new position)
Planned programs include both virtual and in-person events:
Advocacy Task Force: ReFrame Washington (advocacy education event), a national sign-on letter, and Capitol Hill visits.
Affinity Groups: Anti-Racism Community of Practice, Faith-Based (2), Healthy Homes, Camp Model Roundtable, and Local Model Roundtable.
Cohorts: Aging in Place, Falls Prevention, and HUD Veterans Sub-Grantees.
Virtual: spring summit, annual impact call, and regular webinars.
In-person: ReFrame Conference and one regional event.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Background
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
Executive leadership experience (nonprofit preferred).
Previous experience with:
Generating new funding streams and increasing revenue.
Securing corporate partnerships and federal and foundation grants.
Advocacy at the federal, state, and/or local levels.
Associations and/or membership organizations.
Supervising a staff team.
Qualitative Skills
Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to funders, potential members, partners, the media, and the general public.
Excellent organizational abilities including program planning, development, implementation and evaluation. Experienced with delegation and task facilitation.
Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, financial analysis, decision making, and reporting.
Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of funding opportunities.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.

Passionate about and experienced with affordable housing, nonprofit home repair, and/or housing preservation for low-income households.
High-level strategic thinker and planner. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, Board, and donors.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work remotely.
SALARY RANGE & BENEFITS: Compensation package available up to $91,500 consisting of:
$65,000-75,000 annual base salary
Up to 15% bonus based on meeting milestones
3% 403(b) retirement plan contribution with 100% employee vestment (no employee match required)
$3,000 annual health stipend
Paid time off starting at 15 days per year, and 11 holidays.
Technology provided including laptop, monitor, printer, etc. and any accessibility related tools and/or devices.
Stipend of $24 per bi-weekly pay period for cell phone and internet.
Reimbursement of up to $500 of office furniture (desk, chair, ergonomic specialty items, etc.) This is a taxable benefit.
