Position goal: The Director Organizing is responsible for the development and implementation of a robust volunteer and organizing plan that builds power for Planned Parenthood in Florida. They supervise a team of Regional Organizers that identify, recruit and train volunteers and carry out year-round advocacy campaigns. They lead the development and execution of statewide metrics driven campaigns and collaborate with staff from other Planned Parenthood affiliates to ensure objectives are met. They spearhead the development of local pro-active policy campaigns in collaboration with partners, organizers and local elected officials. They are the primary contact for political organizing campaigns in Florida through a resource sharing agreement with the statewide c4 organization. The position requires travel around the state as needed. Weekend work may be required.
Essential Functions/Accountabilities:

- Possess a demonstrated understanding of the role that racial inequity plays in our society and its impact on healthcare systems and institutions, and the ability to relate to and care for diverse populations and communities.
- In collaboration with the VP of Public Affairs develops and implements a comprehensive organizing strategy to protect and promote access to reproductive health care in the state of Florida.
- Represents Planned Parenthood’s mission and positions when speaking to external audiences.
- Leads direction of strategic statewide organizing.
- Selects, manages and engages a high performing team of Regional Organizers.
- Represents Planned Parenthood in Florida through a resource sharing agreement in statewide organizing meetings and coalitions.
- Responsible for development and oversight of strategic and targeted organizing plans and campaigns to meet the power building and policy goals of Planned Parenthood in Florida.
- Responsible for development and oversight of volunteer leadership and supporter program to ensure that meaningful and diverse engagement is available where needed to meet affiliate and statewide goals.
- Ensures successful implementation of campaigns by providing staff and volunteers with training, plans and technical support.
- Utilizes cutting edge programs including supporter file management, micro-targeting, supporter ID programs, phone programs, mobile, and integrated social media.
- Participates in local, state and national conferences and trainings to develop and teach skills.
- Works closely with online and digital staff and consultants to expand online organizing campaigns.
- Develops timelines and budgets for assigned programs and ensure that tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Defines, tracks, and measures the progress of initiatives against goals.
- Ensure compliance with conditions of 501(c) (3) guidelines for approved activities and all other legal compliance and reporting requirements
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, Masters degree preferred from an accredited college or university in People’s Studies, Political Science, Public Policy or another closely related field.
- A minimum of five-seven years of relevant work experience.
- Experience developing and maintaining credible and relationships with coalition partners and volunteers.
- Experience managing rapid/crisis response and managing multiple high level projects with moving parts with little supervision.
- Experience creating and executing detailed work plans and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
Compensation:
- Salary starting at $75,000, based on a 37.5 hour work week.
- A superior non-profit benefits package, 403(b) match up to 6% of salary, tuition reimbursement, three weeks of PTO, ten paid Holidays, birthday pay and personal day.
