JOB SUMMARY

This position leads and supports the development and management of the KCDRC’s Youth Development Program.

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS

Program Development and Support

· Youth Development Program development and expansion

· Program planning, program management, partnership development, care and feeding of existing program, programmatic budget management, program advocacy

Team Management

· Team management and development, program support for implementation and service delivery

Ongoing Responsibilities

· Engage youth peer mediators, parents/guardians, school personnel and community

· Schedule trainings and peer mediations

· Communicate effectively with peer mediators

· Collaborate with peer mediation program coordinators

· Develop and implement programmatic evaluation tools

· Develop application and selection process for youth peer mediators

· Collaborate with King County ADR, past peer mediators, community mediators and Bridging Cultural Gaps, to support 12-hour trainings for High School and Middle School peer mediators

· Support quarterly peer mediation in-services

· Ensure contracts, invoices and reports are updated and completed

· Contract compliance

· Monthly/Quarterly regular communication to school and parents/guardians regarding program progress and updates

Promote Equity & Inclusion

· Strive to ensure that the mediators and coaches are representatives of school community

· Take steps to ensure that there is a diverse pool of peer mediator applicants

Minimum Qualifications

· Values people, results, and accountability

· Demonstrated commitment to racial justice and social equity

· Demonstrated experience in working in environments that require adaptability and flexibility

· Demonstrated experience in effective teamwork, coalition-building, or partnership development involving persons from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and other various backgrounds

· Demonstrated knowledge in policy development or program evaluation

· Demonstrated leadership experience in conflict resolution services or related human services

· Demonstrated experience in program development and operations

· Strong positive interpersonal communication skills

· Strong effective project management and time management skills

· Proficient writing skills and use of Microsoft office software products

· Proficiency in English, bilingual preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations: Our office remains closed to the public due to Covid-19. Most staff perform the majority of their work remotely although an office is available in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle. This position also spends times in the partner schools in Tukwila.

About Dispute Resolution Center of King County

The Dispute Resolution Center of King County (DRC) is a nonprofit organization that has offered affordable mediation and conflict resolution services for individuals, businesses, and families in King County since 1986, including community mediations, Small Claims Court mediation, conflict coaching, group facilitation, information and referral, restorative practices, and training. Our services are largely provided by professional mediators from the community who volunteer their time to help us resolve over 1,000 disputes a year.
