Overview
The Office Manager & Communications Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing operations for the organization, including the Business Office, Development, Marketing, Communications & Programs. This position reports to the Executive Director. We are seeking a flexible team player to join our small, nimble team.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum five years experience in Office Management and Administration
  • Demonstrated proficiency with creative problem solving
  • Organized, practical, efficient, self-directed and flexible
  • Aligns with, understands and can communicate the mission and vision of GCILL, including core projects: WWW and Wombs of Peace
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Works well individually & as part of a team in an intersectional community environment
  • Training and experience implementing JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) policies and practices
  • Proficiency or aptitude to learn: DonorBox, Squarespace, Mail Chimp, Google Suite, Adobe, QBO, and other programs as needed
  • Willingness and desire to participate in organizational activities
  • Preference will be given to those with professional non-profit experience who have worked in Indigenous-led organizations

 

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee business office (manage accounts payable and receivable, grant-related items, insurance, payroll)
  • Oversee and manage program logistics
  • Support Development campaigns and efforts
  • Manage website development, as necessary
  • Maintain master organizational calendar, and staff contact lists; maintain and file meeting minutes
  • Produce monthly e-newsletters and appeals in conjunction with staff
  • Maintain a social media presence (FB, Instagram) and promote programs online
  • Recruit & oversee volunteers
  • Maintain e-files for the organization
  • Coordinate outreach to new and ongoing participants, patrons, and supporters
  • Other duties as needed

Hours: Part-time; starting at 20 hours/week; Mon–Fri; Occasional weekends

Pay Rate: Starting min $23/hour (FTE $47,840); increases commensurate with experience

Job Location: Remote

Start Date: November 2023

Terms: All new hires are subject to a 90-day review period. This is a contract position. This position reports to the Executive Director.
