Mechanical Systems Engineer

The Automation Deployment Engineering (ADE) team is comprised of business units responsible for the deployment at scale of emerging technologies as a part of Global Customer Fulfillment Solutions (GCFS). In order to bridge the gap between product development and the customer requirements, we deploy technology that transforms operational efficiency and excites the end user.


WW DeployEng ADE: The ADE Deploy Eng short for Deployment Engineering is a group of experts comprised of Engineers and Managers, together they lead all technical expects of deployment project’s focusing on the managements of external and internal technical resources related to the various commodities; Sortation, Packaging, Mobility and Pick & Place that ADE deploys. Deploy Eng also works as the liaison between ADE, AR, AT and RME to ensure the highest efficiency in technology handoff, knowledge transfer and training provided. Lastly, Deploy Eng interfaces with the effort led by Deploy Ops, AT and AR related to the various phases of technologies development and for related training to be used in long term support.

The Mechanical Systems Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, design/implement/document mechanical solutions for robotics and material handling systems, act as a liaison for internal and external resources, and be on call as needed. The following roles and responsibilities are required for a successful Mechanicals Systems Engineer:
· Prepare specifications and technical detail to fully define performance on equipment, material and services
· Perform Mechanical level issue diagnostics
· Understand machine PLC control level operation
· Provide detailed analysis and testing of existing and new engineering solutions and components
· Under machine development phase be responsible for incident follow-up, root cause analysis and documentation utilizing COE software following APDS process
· Undertake industrial engineering design on existing and new material handling systems across World Wide network
· In partnership with AT learning, facilitate technical documentation such as flow diagrams, conveyor and equipment layouts, installation details, schedules and budgets
· Support commissioning of new automation elements
· Actively participate in local or World Wide network level Mechanical projects and Initiatives
· Provide value engineering/ value analysis
· Ensures adherence to all Health & Safety procedures. Be proactive in the raising of potential H&S issues and the development of personal safety awareness
· Use AutoCAD to review, develop and maintain mechanical/electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings
· Fully understand and ensure procedural adherence to industry operating standards such as the NEC and NFPA
· Actively participate in the Mechanical System SharePoint site development
· Document mechanical system and equipment configuration changes and keep the documentation updated on the SharePoint site
· Partner with all field operations stakeholders in order to build effective relationships

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ years of Mechanical system working experience in design, development, implementation and support
· Experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley (A&B) PLC Mechanical level issue diagnosis
· 4 year degree in engineering or degree in other related technical discipline
· Experience in dealing with material handling, flow and capacity
· Experience in Industrial networking and communications
· Expertise with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC processers and input/output modules
· Expertise with HMI systems, Industrial Networks, VFD’s, Servo systems, etc.
· Expertise with Industrial Mechanical systems, both hardware and software
· Experience with 3 phase electrical systems
· Fluent in English
· Ability to travel 75% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

· Advanced industrial engineering, project management and implementation experience
· Experience with, or desire to learn, the following:
· Robot Controllers, Microcontrollers, Robot Computers and SBCs, Robot Servo Controllers, PWM & Advanced Signal Driven DC Motor Controllers, Robot Stepper Motor Controllers
· PC based Mechanical systems
· Familiarization with the mechanicals of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
