Global Senior Industrial Hygienist Programs Manager

We’re expanding our Industrial Hygiene team – Are you a passionate leader with the desire to disrupt current health and safety practices and driven to reduce industrial hygiene risks in a very practical, business focused approach? We are looking for a Senior Industrial Hygienist to join our Global Industrial Hygiene team as a program manager. In this role, you will provide technical expertise applying a variety of scientific techniques, standardized assessments and problem-solving skills to drive innovative solutions and programs to prevent injury and illnesses related to workplace exposures. You will work collaboratively across a matrixed organization with WHS field operations, Environment, Operations, Engineers, and other stakeholders. Adaptability, persistence, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytic talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role. You will need to be able to travel within North America and globally.


Responsibilities
The ideal candidate shall:
· Serve as cross-functional resource for industrial hygiene and provide expert level exposure assessment support globally
· Initiate, formulate, and develop scalable and sustainable programs
· Apply industrial hygiene principles into real life complex problems using modeling, data and other methods to eliminate or reduce risk of injury/illness
· Provide recommended exposure control strategies
· Be passionate about using data to facilitate and drive business decisions. You will identify key trends through deep dive analysis (including statistical modelling) to justify industrial hygiene programs/initiatives and establish robust approaches to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of programs
· Improve core industrial hygiene programs including, but not limited to chemical safety, thermal exposures, noise, disaster response and remediation, asbestos
· Provide IH support for new facilities and projects as part of design review
· Maintain subject matter mastery and current industry knowledge to advise senior leadership on emerging trends and regulatory requirements with potential impacts to the business strategic roadmap
· Drive innovation in approaches to industrial hygiene both within Amazon and redefining best practice industry approaches.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety or related field
· Minimum of 8 years work experience, with at least 5 years in industrial hygiene
· Working knowledge and experience with chemical safety, hazard communication, noise, heat, cold, air quality, drinking water, asbestos and mold
· Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Experience communicating with employees at all levels of an organization, including senior leaders
· Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working in industrial, transportation, or distribution center/warehouse operations
· Master’s degree from an accredited US university, or international university of equivalent standard in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety or related field
