Overview

Hi, I’m Avi, Director of Email Platform at Customer.io. I’m looking for a product-focused Fullstack Engineer to join the Parcel.io team to help us empower email creators.

As an email creation platform, we work to help teams of developers, marketers, designers, and copywriters optimize and scale their creation processes. We serve a wide range of users with different skills and backgrounds, which comes with various interesting technical and UX challenges. In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on the product with a high degree of ownership and freedom.

We’re on the Customer.io team and work closely with them to define our goals and strategy. Day-to-day, we work independently and have a bias towards action.

Our small, remote-first team is fun-loving, passionate, and highly efficient. As a distributed company, we are committed to giving you the flexibility and freedom to work from anywhere in the world on a schedule that fits your family and your life.

We genuinely value diversity (one of our core values is awkwardness for a reason). We believe that embracing unique perspectives and expertise is key to our success as a collaborative team.

We understand that you might not have all the skills listed below, but that’s okay. If you have any of the skills listed below and are interested in developing the others, we want to hear from you!

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the tight-knit Parcel squad throughout the conception and development of back-end and front-end features
  • Apply your unique perspective to help us define and build the next generation of features and infrastructure needed to help our customers and our company to flourish
  • Build and improve editors and a component framework for messaging channels like email, push, and in-app
  • Work with our tech support teams to diagnose operational issues and help our customers to achieve their goals with our product
  • Take an active role in a friendly, supportive team that encourages you and the entire company to grow as individuals, professionals, and teams

What we’re looking for:

  • A collaborative mindset backed by excellent communication skills and a desire to help us make great decisions in an empathetic and respectful way
  • Experience working with customers and applying a deep understanding of their needs to produce timely solutions to their real-world problems
  • A solid understanding of how to create front-end web applications that are both accessible and performant
  • Comfort working in UNIX environments and applying modern collaborative development practices
  • Experience using React to build complex web applications
  • Experience using Node.js to deploy and scale server and serverless services
  • Experience in working with RDB systems, preferably PostgresQL
  • Experience working with email creation is nice to have
  • Experience working within a distributed company is preferred
  • Preferably core working hours overlap in some capacity with the teams working hours between 8am-8pm EST
  • Over 5 years of relevant experience

Our tech stack:

  • React / Next.js
  • Node.js
  • PostgresQL
  • Firebase
