LOCATION

DOROT is headquartered on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and the team works on a hybrid schedule. The People & Culture Associate will be expected to work in the office 3-4 days per week, and as needed. All team members are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for someone to join the People & Culture Team who is an HR Generalist with a specialty in Talent Acquisition and who greatly enjoys the variety that HR provides. You will focus on providing a first-rate employee, candidate, and hiring manager experience. Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, your responsibilities will include:

People Operations and Culture

· Work with Finance to process bi-weekly payroll, checking for full completion of staff timesheets and other pay cycle exceptions to ensure smooth and accurate process. Submit payroll in manager’s absence.

· Serve as initial point of contact for employee questions on payroll, benefits, policy, etc. and work with 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve employees’ issues.

· Onboard new employees, set them up in payroll and benefits, and ensure they have access to necessary resources.

· Process offboarding with all benefits carriers.

· Take leadership role on the Staff Activity Committee on staff events focused on creating and maintaining a culture of collaboration, inclusion and belonging.

· Coordinate employee milestone and life event recognition.

· Create PowerPoint deck for monthly All-Staff meetings.

· Assist Chief People Officer with projects and initiatives as they arise.

Talent Acquisition

· Own all functions of the talent acquisition process, including collaborating with hiring managers to create job descriptions and interview guides, posting job opportunities, sourcing and screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.

· Maintain our applicant tracking system (BambooHR), ensuring a timely response to all applicants and moving qualified candidates through the recruitment process efficiently.

· Assess existing workflows and make recommendations to help streamline recruitment and onboarding processes.

· Identify and manage creative ways to source candidates for niche roles with a focus of recruiting a diverse workforce.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Passion for DOROT’s mission

· 2+ years of HR experience with 1+ years of full-cycle recruitment.

· 1+ years of experience assisting with processing payroll for both exempt and non-exempt staff populations. Experience working with a unionized workforce is a plus.

· Ability to foster successful relationships with all levels of staff and management.

· Ability to ask the right questions and confidence to speak up when clarity is needed.

· Enjoys the thrill of the search and the satisfaction of finding the “right” candidate.

· Understanding and adherence to competency- and behavioral-based interviewing methods.

· Proven ability to source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, boolean search and other tools.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Highly organized with extreme attention to detail.

· Exercises good judgment and maintains the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

· Knows when to operate independently and when to seek guidance.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook/Teams and comfortable working with new technology. Knowledge of Canva is a plus.

· Proficiency with payroll software. Experience with BambooHR is a plus.

This is an exempt position, and candidates can expect a salary between $68,000-$75,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
