The central objective of this team is to ensure our organization’s treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and consistent with our framework of our core business values and objectives. The ideal candidate for this position has strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work successfully on a broad spectrum of employee relations issues and projects.

The Employee Relations Specialist will work proactively to:
· Investigate highly sensitive HR issues, including: conducting claimant, witness, and accused employee interviews; analyzing data from various internal systems; composing investigation reports; proposing remedial action based on investigation findings
· Independently manage assigned casework, bringing investigations to closure rapidly and definitively
· Analyze casework trends to produce strategic, proactive recommendations to HR and the business to proactively address and mitigate systemic issues
· Partner in analysis and revision of people programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment for Amazon Employees
· Consult and collaborate with business partners, Corporate ER teams, and Legal teams on complex employee investigations
The individual also will work reactively on critical employee relations issues that are crisis-oriented and typically can only be successfully completed with limited time. Balancing time between projects and crisis-response is a critical component for success in the position.

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ of combined human resources, employee relations, labor relations, investigative, or legal experience
· Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

· Advanced degree, such as a JD, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations a significant plus
· Strong evidence of career development and/or evidence of superior performance in previous roles
· Demonstrated passion for employee relations, investigations, and labor/employment law
· Experience in a high tech environment
· Solid understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws
· Experience in conducting investigative work, including claimant, witness, and accused employee interviews, investigative data analysis, and production of investigative documentation
· Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite systems including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
