About the role

As the Paid Marketing Director you will be a strategic leader within our marketing team, driving the global paid media agenda; planning, execution, and optimization of paid marketing initiatives. In addition to driving customer acquisition, and a strong focus on performance marketing, this also includes brand marketing campaigns where appropriate.
You will lead a global team of paid media professionals with significant budgets across Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other platforms (including Affiliate marketing), as well as work closely with key stakeholders across Marketing, Design, Product and Analytics to ensure cohesive and impactful experiences for users across marketing channels and product.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the overall paid marketing strategy aligned with Envato’s goals and objectives.
  • Ensure comprehensive end-to-end management of paid marketing campaigns across various platforms, including Google, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok,  LinkedIn, and more.
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategies to grow our Affiliate marketing channel.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to ensure cohesive integration of brand messaging and visuals in paid campaigns.
  • Collaborate with other key stakeholders across marketing and product to ensure consistency and optimisation across the broader customer experience
  • Strategically allocate and manage paid marketing budgets to achieve maximum return on investment and/or other agreed KPIs
  • Utilize deep data-driven insights to understand and continually optimize performance
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and changes in algorithms affecting paid marketing and implement cutting-edge strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Lead and mentor a team of paid media professionals.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to inspire the team to deliver high quality work.
  • Embody a high-performance culture by implementing strong support mechanisms to drive continuous improvement, individual and collective accountability and trust.
  • As an influential member of the marketing leadership team, support, challenge and guide cross-functional leaders to plan and prioritize strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivate a strong hypothesis-driven testing culture

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Marketing, Business, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 7 years of experience in paid marketing, with a proven track record of strategic leadership, and managing significantly large budgets
  • Demonstrated experience and certification across both paid search and paid social: Google Ads, DV360, SA360; Microsoft Ads; Facebook; LinkedIn; Twitter
  • Strong experience with analytics, tracking & data centred performance analysis and reporting
  • Exceptional team management and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and strong collaboration skills across functions.
  • Ability to assess and prioritise channels with consideration on the impact of paid vs. organic that provides the strongest business outcome.
  • Experience in Programmatic, Marketing Automation; onsite targeting and SEO knowledge highly regarded.
