Position Summary:

i.c.stars is hiring an Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to join our organization at an exciting time of organizational growth. Working with our leadership team to respond to various opportunities and initiatives, we’re looking for a skilled individual to design, implement, and oversee all aspects of our marketing/communications needs to achieve company goals and increase brand awareness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy (40%)

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to advance i.c.stars’ brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities; and increase the visibility of its programs across key constituencies
  • Conceptualize and design multi-channel marketing, digital, and print materials in coordination with key stakeholders
  • Provide insights to marketing and senior leadership to amplify impact across recruitment, hiring, events, corporate partners, and graduate placement
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies in the work process and innovative approaches for functional area improvements
  • Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
  • Oversee the development of all marketing collateral materials, performance programs, e-communications, website, social media, annual reports, etc
  • Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities, and prepare talking points, speeches, and presentations
  • Report at organization’s senior leadership meetings, Board meetings, and staff meetings, as well as for the organization’s ad hoc meetings
  • Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications and public relations
  • In collaboration with leadership, establish marketing budget and optimize marketing spend against established driver metric and result metric goals
  • Identify and manage vendor and agency partners

Execution (60%)

  • Collaborate with team leads throughout organization and program lifecycles, leading the design, execution, and management of all marketing activities
  • Work with leadership to design and implement key marketing campaigns and standardize all organizational marketing collateral, messaging, and documentation
  • Collaborate with leadership to support our website design and content marketing
  • Create templates for posting on social media, email, newsletters and other channels.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of institutional marketing and communications
  • Create comprehensive marketing calendar for the organization in coordination with department heads
  • Establish best practices and manage the execution, measurement, and reporting across all marketing channels
  • Establish internal communications best practices in coordination with leadership

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years of experience in a Marketing/Communications with a track record of success
  • Passion and excellence in writing and editing copy for a broad array of promotional materials including, but not limited to, electronic newsletters, press releases, annual reports, flyers, ads, job posts, and marketing literature
  • Strong marketing, management, and relationship-building skills and a good working knowledge of traditional and digital marketing
  • Exceptional deck presentation skills with the ability to transform broad messages into a concise set of visually appealing slides
  • Ability to work cross-departmentally and collaboratively
  • Must be energetic and have good people skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an exceptional capability in developing effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Familiarity with workforce development concepts and the corporate, municipal, and philanthropic landscape as they pertain to workforce development
  • Experience working with ethnically and socioeconomically diverse communities
  • Demonstrated understanding of what it takes to foster a supportive, collaborative, positive and high-performing work culture
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
