ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer located in San Francisco, CA who will partner with Hardware Engineering, Software, and Global Supply & Manufacturing to bring new PAX products to market in an outsourced manufacturing environment and sustain the performance of new and legacy products. In this position, you will deliver technical expertise to our contract manufacturing partners, work to improve quality and solve maintenance-of-line issues, and drive cost reduction initiatives. You will be responsible for driving global manufacturing & operational excellence activities: supporting new selection and development of contract manufacturers (CMs) and suppliers, testing optimization, continuous improvement, product or process issue resolution projects involving PAX, contract engineers, and upstream component and raw material suppliers. You will work cross functionally and globally, collaborating with product management and design engineering on new product specifications to align with manufacturing and process improvement.

Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include:

Review and provide feedback on design/design intent of components and assemblies.
Set standard manufacturing practices and independently determine impact to design and parameters to the final product.
Partner with internal and external teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase and set expectations for manufacturing processes.
Develop new and/or improved processes for parts and assemblies through the application of theoretical and practical engineering.
Support corrective actions with cross-functional team members.
Provide direction, guidance and resources to other engineering groups and project leaders as well as factory technicians.
Analyze mechanical data to assess statistical process control.
Perform time studies, when needed, to assess line capacity and to identify areas to improve.
Improve production line efficiency, flexibility, and work environment to improve yield, capacity, and product quality.
Lead projects to introduce new products to the production line and to improve existing tooling, fixtures, and procedures.
Track and report production yields, improving them to meet goals.
Support investigations into line failures, NCMRs, and line issues, and document findings accordingly.
Work with Quality to resolve part quality issues from suppliers/vendors.
Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Exposure with Asia Contract manufacturers and Suppliers.
Hands on experience working with cross functional teams in manufacturing facilities.
Working knowledge of GD&T & measurement equipment/ metrology
Design of Experiments, statistical process control methods and theory
Data analytics and knowledge of associated software a plus (Tableau,JMP, Python)
Experience creating & maintaining a positive atmosphere in a collaborative work team.
Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Enjoys troubleshooting and problem solving.
Skilled with the use of a variety of hand and portable tools.
Skilled with common workplace software (G Suite Tools, G-Doc, G-Sheet, G-Slides, Slack, Jira / Confluence etc.).
Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, Mandarin language skills a plus.
Ability to Travel 35% of Time.
Ability to Work with any employer in the US.
Onsite Role, Temporary Remote till Covid -19.
