Classification – Exempt This is a full-time exempt position with flexible work hours. A typical work week is Mon – Thursday.  This position may include extensive travel around the country around 20% of the year.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The MED Strategic campaigns manager leads the organization’s efforts to support its partners to lead effective educational and policy campaigns to enact electoral reforms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist partners in developing materials to support their efforts and campaigns
  • Work with other staff members and partners to develop qualitative research questions and projects, including focus groups and surveys
  • Participate in partner campaigns and coalitions
  • Record keeping; reporting; processing vendor invoices, stipends, reimbursements, etc.
  • Event organizing and planning; logistical planning for travel and lodging as needed
  • Support organizational partners to develop and implement strategic campaigns that effectively promote organizational policy priorities.
  • Analyze research and data to inform campaign strategies and measure their impact.
  • Collaborate with the Education and Training Project Manager to ensure partner organizations  are building their own capacity and knowledge as a function of their campaign efforts
  • Engage and manage relationships with national, state, and local organizations and leaders to build a base of support for the organization’s policy priorities.
  • Provide direct technical assistance to partners, including reviewing and analyzing campaign budgets, plans, communications, campaign structures, coalition management strategies.
  • Develop templates and deliver trainings on best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate partner organization campaign plans, offering strategic insight and   encouraging adherence to shared strategic goals.
  • Provide regular updates to the Programs team and the executive director and other   stakeholders on partners’ progress, challenges, and outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and coalition members with an anti-racism and anti-oppression lens
  • Proven ability to develop and execute a plan including goals, metrics, strategy and tactics
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

5+ years of experience working on issue, candidate, or legislative campaign

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in relevant or related field or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience the field of electoral reform, direct organizing, language access implementation, ability to speak and write in another language a plus Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

COMPENSATION: 
The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $80,000, commensurate with experience. Through NEO Philanthropy, this position is offered a full benefits package, including 100% medical coverage for the employee and 90% medical coverage for dependents; 100% coverage for vision, dental, life/AD&D, long-term disability.
