Mission and Philosophy  

The Shalom Hartman Institute is a leading center of Jewish thought and education, serving Israel and North America. Our mission is to strengthen Jewish peoplehood, identity and pluralism and ensure that Judaism is a compelling force for good in the 21st century.

Position  

The Marketing Coordinator will provide critical communications, marketing, and creative support to the Institute’s English-language programs, activities, and resources across North America and in Israel. This position is an opportunity to work on diverse projects including SHI NA’s website, social media marketing and analytics, email communications, collateral design, and digital media. Success in the role requires strong attention to detail, strong writing skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this position is based in NYC.  

Responsibilities  

  • Manage English language website; create new content and maintain existing pages.
  • Support email communications and promotional materials to a variety of audiences, including drafting, formatting, and designing newsletters and other email campaigns as well as managing audience segmentation via the organization’s CRM. 
  • Support programmatic marketing. Develop relevant collateral, curate content across social channels, maintain a cohesive look and brand across all platforms.
  • Support general administration for the Communications and Creative team, including but not limited to managing communications calendar, scheduling related to podcasts, project management, media tracking, and CRM maintenance. 

Qualifications  

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marketing and communications.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written; strong proofreading and editing abilities.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress website platforms. Prior experience with Mailchimp or comparable email marketing platform is required. Knowledge of Salesforce and HTML coding experience a plus.
  • Strong creative and branding sensibility, including ability to create marketing materials and work effectively with external graphic designers. Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and producing digital content for social media; strong understanding of business social media platforms, Hootsuite, Google analytics, and SEO, a plus.
  • Able to prioritize and to work independently and proactively, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce highly professional work under tight deadlines and with shifting priorities.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, high-energy environment. Track record of demonstrating sound judgment and knowing when to take initiative, when to elevate problems.
  • Familiarity with Jewish tradition and the contemporary Jewish landscape a plus.
  • Familiarity with young adult landscape a plus.
  • Hebrew language competence a plus.
  • Good sense of humor.

Salary range and benefits:  

60k – 65k annual salary. Competitive compensation and benefits package, commensurate with experience.
