Physical Security Program Manager

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Special Programs Evaluations Assessments & Response (SPEAR) Team is expanding to support the exponential growth of our data facilities and related security functions associated with this growth. AWS is looking for an independent, passionate, highly talented, and motivated physical security Program Manager to integrate, connect, and become a force multiplier for the entire team. This detailed and driven Program Manager will be responsible for program communication, as well as tracking and managing projects and initiatives across multiple operational teams within the SPEAR team and partner teams within the organization. The Program Manager will also assist the team with managing data processes and metrics and process improvements. The successful candidate must be knowledge and/or passionate about physical security, be detail oriented, possess strong writing and verbal skills, be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a dynamic environment. AWS has a strong culture of data-driven decision-making requiring timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence that delivers significant business value. Key Responsibilities
· Interact with internal stakeholders to determine performance of key initiatives and provide in-depth analysis of out-of-band results;
· Own and execute ad-hoc project work supporting key initiatives related to the re-invention of how we manage our business;
· Manage project written communications and serve as the first point of contact for team projects;
· Assist in determining the strategic direction of the AWS Physical Security program based on customer interaction and demonstrative metrics;
· Work with various stakeholders, to understand business drivers, goals and actionable outcomes using analytics;
· Identify, gather, and manipulate data from internal and external sources to provide a more complete picture of our business relationships;
· Identify patterns and make connections to improve project/process efficiency for the team;
· Define and clarify business procedures and process requirements;
· Track and manage projects and initiatives across multiple operational teams through establishing milestones and driving sensible deadlines;
· Scope in new company policies, standards, and procedures into team’s operational activities;
· Drive business decision-making based on analytical findings; and
· Expect to travel 20% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

· 4 + years of specialized industry or professional experience in project management, analytics, or physical security or a relevant college degree and at least three (3) years of industry experience;
· 2+ years of experience managing small scale projects
· 2+ years of experience working in a fast paced environment with competing objectives in a fast paced environment
· Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
· Proven problem solving skills, project management, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related technical field
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
· 2+ years of experience identifying and driving process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring metrics, analyzing data and partnering with internal teams
· Strong operational business understanding, including potential impact of business decisions on various internal/external stakeholders
· Understand how metrics drives business and have a framework-driven process of analyzing business problems and developing solutions
· Experience in at least one reporting tool
· Experience with Tableau
· Experience with multiple database platforms
· Experience with AWS features (i.e. S3 or Redshift)
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
