Learning Specialist II

Amazon’s Operations Talent Development team is seeking a Learning Specialist to build and deliver a large scale, innovative program that demonstrably improves the time to proficiency of field learning leaders across multiple operations to support Operations. This includes leading needs analysis, setting program strategy and direction, working with instructional designers and subject matter experts to develop or modify programs that impact our Learning Leaders. Building strong working relationships with Learning Business Partners and key stakeholder groups, the Learning Specialist will continually dive deep to understand the learning needs, using data and insights into the business to build or adapt learning methods, materials or technology that will support the leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with business leaders at all levels to build and manage a large scale program for Learning Leaders
– Develop and experiment with new learning solutions that accelerate the proficiency of our Learning Leaders
– Establish a comprehensive set of metrics to measure the performance of Learning Leaders and the impact of our programs
– Serve as the single threaded leader for Learning Leader Proficiency/Mastery/Transition

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as business, education, instructional design, organizational development or equivalent experience
· 3 years’ experience in the areas of operational management and learning and development with increasing levels of responsibility and scope.
· Strong analytical skills and experience using and presenting data to make decisions
· Program management skills – including managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track and excellent time management
· Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence peers and leaders
· Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and willingness to be vocally self-critical
· Disciplined self-starter; resourceful and able to prioritize (and re-prioritize) in a fast-paced environment with shifting objectives
· Ability to deliver results with minimal supervision in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment
· Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills; current role model for learning and development leaders
· Ability to travel 50% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

· Master’s degree in related a discipline
· Operational experience outside of training and leadership development
· Experience supporting the training and leadership development of an operational organization
· Experience with business, financial and process improvements tools, concepts and methodologies
